Atelier

L'Épatage is a small workshop in Minsk. Corsets, basques, bags and gloves are made here by hand, one at a time, in natural leather.

The workshop

We keep no stock of finished corsets: each piece is started once it is ordered. That is why corsets and basques have no size chart — the maker works from your measurements, and our manager stays in touch from measuring to dispatch.

Leather and hardware

Smooth leather, croc-embossed leather and suede. Lacing through eyelets, straps on buckles, an embossed logo on the lining. Every detail is in the close-ups on each product page.

How a corset is made

Five steps from the tape measure to the finished piece.

  1. BustUnderbustWaistHips

    Measurements

You enter your measurements on the product page, or send them to our manager after ordering. If you're unsure, we can take them together over video call.

  2. Pattern

The maker drafts a pattern from your measurements — a template for every panel of the corset. Your bust, waist and hips set the lines of the seams.

  3. Croc-embossed basque fastened with buckles

    Cutting

The panels are traced onto the leather and cut by hand, choosing parts of the hide so the grain and colour match across every panel.

  4. Back of a corset: double topstitching and an embossed logo

    Sewing

The panels are sewn and topstitched, the boning goes in, then the eyelets, buckles and the embossed lining.

    Fitting

Before dispatch the piece is checked against your measurements. If the fit isn't perfect when it arrives, write to us: we'll help you adjust it or offer an exchange.
